We are Grateful

if the only prayer you said in your whole life was, “thank you,” that would suffice. ~ Meister Eckhart

Gratitude is a natural state of being. When we live appreciating all of life and what we have, we discover that more is brought to us. It is a focus that increases that which we are focusing upon. It increases our abundance, health, love and joy. On the other hand, when one complains about not having enough, one is brought more to complain about.

Anger and fear can be harmful if they arise from our chronic patterns… judging everyone and everything, worrying about things we can’t change, fearing never having or being enough. It is also said that comparison is the death of joy because it focuses on what is lacking. When we are grateful there is always more than enough.

When we train ourselves to stop, identify and be fully present to even one thing we are truly grateful for, we are brought back to the present moment. That is where true peace and power lie. Gratitude makes us feel good right here and now for all that we are and all that we have. Our anger and fear disappear when we are genuinely thankful. An attitude of gratitude brings us peace and overflows to those around us. This circle of peace grows and we return to our natural state of joy, love and peace, knowing we are whole and complete just as we are.
